LDPE is a thermoplastic made from the monomer ethylene.

Primarily used as a film material in the packaging industry Low Density Polyethylene or LDPE is gaining wide acceptance as a useful material in the orthotics and prosthetics industry. LDPE’s flexibility has provided the solution to many problems in this field.

Having a much lower thermoforming temperature and being extremely malleable, Low Density Polyethylene has many fabricating advantages over other materials such as High Density Polyethylene and PETG.

Although not having the same rigidity as these other materials, LDPE has sufficient flexibility which has provided the solution to many problems in this field.
