Introduced in the mid 1950's High Density Polyethylene or HDPE has become a common fixture in the plastics world.

HDPE is a polyethylene thermoplastic manufactured from petroleum. It is commonly known as polythene. Applications range from household goods to pressure piping.

Even at low temperatures it exhibits both high chemical and corrosion resistance. FDA approved for food contact.

HDPE has a large strength to density ratio and has far superior tensile strength than that of LDPE. Easy to fabricate, widely used as a low cost alternative to traditional materials in the industrial field. It is lightweight and has very good chemical resistance, being resistant to many solvenets. It also has good sliding properties.

Black HDPE provides excellent UV resistance.

A higher grade of carbon filled HDPE, E-Plas' range of PE 100 products is confirmed by our manufacturer as having a carbon content greater than 2 per cent. PE 100 =  > 2%  (ASTM D 1603)
