Rulon® LD

Rulon® is a polymeric fluoropolymer formulation for a dry bearing material, that has been expressly formulated to run against soft materials such as brass, 316SS, aluminium, zinc, plastics and other materials which are worn by existing filled PTFE compounds.

Rulon® eliminates abrasive and hard inorganic fillers such as glass, graphite and silicates which abrade and scratch soft mating surfaces, or even on occasion some of the harder ones. Where brass and aluminium mating surfaces cannot be used with standard filled grades of P.T.F.E Rulon® will provide very good service.

By comparison with virgin unfilled P.T.F.E Rulon® can be characterised by the following properties:

• 50% lower creep
• 15% harder
• 50% increase in stiffness
• 25% lower elongation
• 30% lower dynamic coefficient of friction
• Significantly lower wear
• Significantly higher Pressure - Velocity limit
• Excellent chemical resistance
