Sustamid® - Sustaglide® - Plus
SUSTAGLIDE® -PLUS was developed as a High Pressure-Velocity formulation for demanding slice and journal bearing applications. Having the same basic structure as standard SUSTAGLIDE® but combined with a non-abrasive filler SUSTAGLIDE® -PLUS has the benefits of a major increase in its modulus of elasticity by up to 40% over SUSTAGLIDE® resulting in a much stiffer material and providing greater resistance to deformation under load. "This grade has a coefficient of friction of 0.20 equivalent to UHMW-PE and has a similar abrasion resistance." In addition to major mechanical attributes SUSTAGLIDE® can be used at higher temperatures both intermittently and also for longer durations. SUSTAGLIDE® -PLUS, due to its hybrid nature, has comparable performance to some of the more well known High Peformance materials however at a lower cost. It has a static dynamic coefficient of friction almost 1/3rd of standard PA6G combined with a short term service temperature of 170C. SUSTAGLIDE® -PLUS is Grey in colour.
